Arbitrator Rules in Favour of DPERWA

On June 25, 2010 the DPERWA and the DPCDSB attended an Arbitration Hearing over a policy grievance arising out of the failure of the Board to recognize the Designated Early Chilhood Educators (DECE) as being postions within this Bargaining Unit (DPERWA).  The Arbitrator handed down the decision on July 5, 2010 that "the work of the DECE position ....is bargaining unit work, and ought to be treated as such."  The Association's Negotiating Team and the Board's Negotiating Team will be meeting in the very near future to begin contract discussions.

Collective Agreement Additions

Permanent ERWs will be receiving copies of the Appendix for Supply ERWs.  Supply ERWs will be receiving new Collective Agreement booklets that include the Appendix.  It was decided to do it this way as there will be more additons after negotiating for the Designated Early Childhood Educators.
